DEARG stands for ‘Delivering Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Resources and Guidance’. Hosted by Donegal woman Kathleen King, the DEARG Podcast brings you evidence-based insights, interviews with leading experts, and practical advice for navigating the challenges of living with endometriosis and adenomyosis in Ireland.
Hooray, we have a new Irish podcast focusing on Endometriosis in Ireland! Launched on your favourite podcasting platform on 1st September 2023 and now available on SPOTIFY this new Irish podcast discusses and explores endometriosis and adenomyosis from many perspectives and boy oh boy do we need this awareness and advocacy right now.
I for one, as both a Psychosexual Therapist & Fertility Counsellor and fellow endo patient, am overjoyed that Irish women and their partners and families will be able to listen to these podcast episodes and understand more about this complex condition which has both acute and diverse ranging symptoms.
According to the Endometriosis Association of Ireland, ‘several studies have reported large diagnostic delays in endometriosis. In Ireland, the average delay is 9 years.’ You can read more about endometriosis symptoms, diagnosis, causes and treatment of endometriosis surgically on their website endometriosis.ie
With the influences of social media, influencers and chat room forums, now more than ever we need expert advice, guidance, scientific data and research on endometriosis which is presented and discussed in a knowledgeable and compassionate way.
In season one of the DEARG Podcast, I had the pleasure and privilege of joining Kathleen King on the podcast to discuss Endometriosis from a Psychotherapist and Clinical sexology perspective sharing the psychological impact of living with undiagnosed and diagnosed symptoms, the impact on fertility and share my own lived experience of endometriosis. I invited Kathleen to share with my readers her motivation for hosting this essential and empowering podcast right now.
“I started the DEARG podcast to raise awarness about endometriosis and adenomyosis, sharing my experinces over 25 years. Through the platform I am to provide valuable information, support and advocacy for those affected by the conditions in Ireland and beyond. The podcasts serves as a vital resource for education and empowerment“.
