The Woman Up! podcast hosted by Hazel Larkin of traumarecovery.ie invited me recently to be a guest on her new podcast, which is by women, for women and all about the topics and conversations affecting women today.
About Hazel Larkin, host of the Woman Up! Podcast
Hazel Larkin holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology & Sociology; an MA in Sexuality Studies; an LLM in International Human Rights Law, from Queen’s University, Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is currently in the final year of a PhD researching transgenerational trauma with specific regard to Irish women and child sexual abuse.
In this Season 1, episode 20, Hazel and I discuss many aspects of sex and female sexuality, converse about the concept of self-intimacy, the role of sex education, desire discrepancy and developing a deep awareness of your own female body. We touch upon the condition of vaginismus and the impact of pornography use on some couples who come to psychosexual therapy seeking help and healing.
‘As a psychosexual therapist, clients come to me for therapy to discuss any and every aspect of sexuality, incl. sexual disorders, anxiety, fetishes, sexual blocks, pornography, menopause, shame, empowerment and many unspoken sensitive and hidden aspects of human sexuality. It is truly a privilege to be part of deep, vulnerable and intimate conversations that are part of a transformation process for those in therapy.’
